Belgium v Egypt Betting Tips: Latest odds, team news, preview and predictions

With Mo Salah still missing for the visitors our tipster is backing Roberto Martinez’s side to claim a victory without too many problems in Brussels

Belgium’s penultimate preparatory game for the World Cup sees them host Egypt in Brussels on Wednesday evening.

Roberto Martinez’s side played out a dull 0-0 draw against Portugal on Friday night and the Red Devils will be expecting an improved performance against their north African opponents.

For Egypt this is their final game before their World Cup opener against Uruguay on 15th June, with the Pharohs having drawn their two previous friendlies against Kuwait and Colombia respectively.

Latest odds

The result against Portugal extended the Belgians’ unbeaten run to 17 matches and dabblebet offer them at 27 1.28 to pick up a victory on home soil.

Egypt’s last game against European opposition saw them beaten 1-0 by Greece back in March and they can be backed at 91 10.00 for a morale boosting victory. The draw meanwhile is priced at 41 5.00.

Team news

Egypt will be without Mo Salah following the injury sustained by the Liverpool forward in the agen piala dunia Champions League final. The 25-year-old faces a race against time to be fit for any of his nation’s group games at the World Cup and the clash on Wednesday will certainly come too soon.

Belgium for their part will be without Vincent Kompany who picked up a groin strain in the draw with Portugal, although he is still expected to feature in Russia and was named in the final 23-man squad earlier in the week.

Preview

The absence of Salah will be keenly felt by Egypt and without their talisman the African side looked fairly blunt in attack against Colombia on Friday.

Indeed, the visitors managed just two shots on goal during the goalless draw with the Colombians and they are unlikely to get much joy against a Belgium side that has kept three consecutive clean sheets.

The hosts meanwhile were also a little underwhelming in attack during their last game and Martinez will be looking for a much improved display from his talented forwards.

Tips and predictions

In an understandably one-sided market backing Belgium to win to nil at 45 1.80 would seem the most attractive option.

Five of Belgium’s last seven wins have come without conceding and against an Egypt side devoid of their most creative and dangerous player, the Red Devils should be able to see out a win and record a clean sheet.
